Job Summary:

The Network Security Engineer l will be responsible for providing architectural expertise in the planning, designing, and implementing of network firewalls, switches, wireless access points, application firewalls, intrusion detection prevention systems, and virtual private network software/hardware. This position will be responsible for implementing complex, secure networks on a case-by-case basis that revolves around the business and technology needs of the customer. Core competencies include but are not limited to troubleshooting and debugging network issues, handling network security exploits, network traffic analysis, and VPN encryption. The Network Security Engineer provides network and firewall support to customers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Provide best in class customer service to Logically’s customer base

  • Adhere to company values while following best practices and operational procedures  

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and all contractual and regulatory requirements  

  • Manage the status of open tickets/projects and complete technical and operational tasks to address project deliverables efficiently and accurately 

  • Implement secure networks on case-by-case bases dependent upon circumstantial business and technology requirements

  • Responsible for implementing appropriate IT security procedures, configuring security software, and implementing security administration functions across multiple platforms

  • Responsible for performing product deployments and assessments as well as making recommendations to enhance and expand the cybersecurity portfolio of customers

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure customer service level agreements (SLA) are met 

  • Provide network and firewall support to customers

  • Provide support, engineering, configuration, and troubleshooting for Cerdant’s network security infrastructure

  • Perform network troubleshooting, network traffic analysis and debugging, security incident response; implement VPN encryption

  • Develop and maintain network security documentation

  • Apply risk management framework to assess cybersecurity risks of network appliances and provide strategic recommendations to bolster security and reduce attack surface while maintaining required operational capabilities

  • Participate in on-call support rotation

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or relevant experience

  • 2-4 years’ experience in network architecture and deployment

  • Preferred to have at least 1 of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE, Fortinet NSE4 or higher, SonicWall Network Security Administrator (SNSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

  • Knowledge of STP, LAG, LACP, ACL, LLDP, 802.1X, and NAC protocols

  • Knowledge of firewall policies, security standards, and managing rulesets 

  • Understanding of L2 switching and spanning tree technologies

  • Understanding of network design and troubleshooting techniques 

  • Preferred experience configuring firewall, wireless, and switching products such as Fortinet, SonicWall, Extreme Networks, Palo Alto, Cisco, etc.   

  • Preferred experience managing complex customer networks

  • Preferred experience with network architecture and deployment

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and various levels of management both verbally and in written form

  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate superior leadership, presentation, and planning ability, as well as verbal and written communication skills 

  • Business acumen; translating business requirements into related solutions 

  • Flexible and able to remain calm in times of stress while managing multiple priorities at one time 

  • Active listener with excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to handle difficult conversations 

  • Sound problem-solving technique with ability and persistence to generate options and select the best solution 

  • Ability to build relationships based on trust to enable collaboration and cooperation amongst team members and internal/external stakeholders 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and various levels of management both verbally and in written form 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment 

  • Team player mentality and willingness to share knowledge with others
