Payroll Manager
Ohio County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our team. The Payroll Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that all employees are compensated accurately and timely while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position requires a strong background in payroll processing, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage confidential information with the utmost integrity. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Human Resources and Finance departments to streamline payroll operations, resolve discrepancies, and support the school district’s financial objectives. As a vital member of our administrative team, the Payroll Manager will also contribute to payroll reporting, audit preparations, and continuous process improvements. Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all Ohio County Public Schools employees ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to verify employee information such as new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
- Process payroll deductions, garnishments, benefits, tax deductions, and other adjustments accurately.
- Prepare and submit required payroll reports and tax filings in a timely manner.
- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies or employee inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits related to payroll and employee compensation.
- Continuously evaluate payroll processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations including tax laws and labor standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and employees.
- Experience working in a public sector or Academic Qualifications environment is a plus.
