JOB RESPONSIBILITY:
A Deputy Treasurer is responsible for the bookkeeping, secretarial responsibilities, and various office functions of the Brown County Treasurer's Office.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND PUBLIC RELATIONS:
Extensive public contact in assisting taxpayers in payment of taxes and/or inquiries of various related matters, requiring dignity and tact. Personally, responsible for the reconciliation of cash on a daily basis and balancing of daily receipts. Preparation of tax bill mailings, inventory, records, and other various reports.

NECESSARY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Competence in mathematics, typing, and knowledge of importing/exporting data.
Written and verbal communications such as letters, phone calls, appointments, and emails.
Bookkeeping duties that include preparing daily statements, monthly statements, posting of redeemed warrants, and transfers of funds. Posting of tax payments and county receipts on a daily basis accurately and efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or GED; one to two years' experience in an office setting.
Must have ability to work as a team in a fast-paced office. Dress code is business casual. Must be able to lift and carry 20 to 30 lbs.
