Location: Mount Vernon, OH (Government Developmental Facility)
Schedule: 8–16 hours/week, up to 24 hours available – Flexible 1st shift (typically 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Compensation: $70–$80/hour
Contract Type: Long-Term Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our healthcare team at a government-operated developmental facility in Mount Vernon, Ohio. This is a long-term contract position offering stability, flexibility, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a specialized care setting. The NP will provide advanced nursing care, manage chronic and acute conditions, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement patient care plans within NP licensure boundaries.

• Perform routine physical examinations, diagnose conditions, and prescribe medications/treatments.

• Monitor and manage acute and chronic illnesses, including discharge planning and follow-up care.

• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.).

• Administer vaccinations and perform minor procedures as training allows.

• Assess need for referrals and coordinate consultations.

• Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely medical records in compliance with policies and regulations.

• Provide clinical guidance to RNs, LPNs, and other caregivers.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuing education.

• Serve as a health resource for patients, families, and staff, promoting preventive care and wellness.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program with certification by the Ohio Board of Nursing .

• Strong clinical background in chronic care, acute care, and patient management.

• Proficiency in use of medical equipment and electronic health records.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.

• Commitment to patient-centered, team-based care.
