Paving Sealcoat Laborer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Buck Brothers Asphalt & Concrete is hiring several candidates for the role of Paving Sealcoat Laborer to perform work across properties in Ohio.

The Paving Sealcoat Laborer will be responsible for cleaning, prepping, trimming, maintaining and applying liquid seal coat and crack seal on pavement surfaces; such as parking lots, driveways, and streets. Candidate must be able use blowers, brooms, shovels, and a variety of other hand tools to ensure a clean surface prior to recoating. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions on pavement surfaces. Must be willing to learn and adapt to different techniques to ensure a quality repaved surface in a safe manner.

Duties, Skills, and Responsibilities:

• All employees are required to work safely and report any injury immediately.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment and machinery.
• Clean and prep pavement for resurfacing.
• Able to use blowers, broom, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other hand tools need to complete job.
• Ability to prep oil spots before resurfacing.
• Trim all edges around work area.
• Able to clean cracks in pavement and reseal with crack seal.
• Hand work areas as needed where sealing machine is unable to reach.
• Spray sealcoat sealer.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean, neat and organized job site.
• Assist with traffic control devices.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• At least one year of experience preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, managers and customers.
• Ability to produce quality work.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, or irregular hours that will be required based on schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation to arrive to job site(s).

Physical Abilities:

• Ability to lift 50 (+ -) pounds or be able to ask for assistance.
• Ability to twist, turn and bend continuously.
• Ability to push, pull and carry objects.
• Ability to shovel using hands, arms and legs to complete task.
• Ability to carry small to large tools in and around jobsite.
• Ability to walk, stand and kneel for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform small detailed tasks.

Work environment:

• Exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles such as dust, dirt, fumes, etc
• Ability to work in an external environment and under many weather conditions such as frigid cold, extreme heat and humidity, and exposure to vibration and/or loud noise
