Hospital Sterilization Systems Installation Specialist
Shape Better Care, One Installation at a Time
Picture your morning: you load your company vehicle in Cincinnati and head to a major hospital project in Indianapolis. You meet the Installation Project Manager, confirm delivery timing, and walk the site with facilities to verify rough-in dimensions, utilities, and the path of travel through doorways and elevators. By mid-day, you’ve uncrated a sterilizer, assembled OR lights and booms, set and leveled the equipment, connected water, drains, steam, and power (120/208/240/480 VAC), and run functional tests. You wipe the equipment down, remove fingerprints, dispose of crates and packing, complete electronic documentation, and conduct a final walk-through to answer questions before you leave. That’s a typical day as a STERIS Installation Specialist supporting safe patient care.
Your Travel Footprint
- High-travel, field-based role with significant driving and likely overnight stays.
- Territory centered on Cincinnati and spanning Kentucky, Indiana, and most of Ohio, with many projects in metro areas such as Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
- Day trips and occasional week-long (M–F) trips; some weekend work, not exceeding two weekends per month.
- Hours vary by customer schedules; overtime is common but not guaranteed.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate installation schedules with the Installation Project Manager to align with deliveries, customer availability, and construction timelines.
- Verify site readiness: rough-in dimensions, utility availability, and clearances for equipment transport.
- Install STERIS equipment: uncrate, assemble, place/lift, level, connect utilities, and test.
- Finish strong: complete electronic service documentation, clean and wipe down equipment, remove packing materials, and resolve questions on-site to ensure satisfaction.
