Abrasive Technology Inc
Lewis Center, OH

Job Description

Job Description

Inspector – Medical & Dental Instruments (Electro & Furnace Plating)
Are you detail-driven and take pride in doing things right the first time? Join our team as an Inspector supporting the electro and furnace plating of precision medical and dental instruments made with advanced superabrasive materials. Your careful eye will help ensure every product meets the highest standards of accuracy, consistency, and performance.

If you enjoy hands-on work, steady focus, and being part of a team that values craftsmanship and quality, this could be a great fit for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect medical and dental components before and after electro or furnace plating to verify quality and specifications.
  • Use microscopes, magnifiers, and precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to measure tight-tolerance features.
  • Identify surface defects, coating irregularities, and dimensional variances.
  • Record inspection data accurately and report any non-conformances.
  • Verify that all processing and documentation steps are complete.
  • Support continuous improvement by communicating quality trends or issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety and quality procedures.

What You’ll Bring

  • Keen attention to detail and patience for visual, precision work.
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
  • Comfort working with small parts and repetitive, accuracy-focused tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous manufacturing or inspection experience preferred — but training is provided.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Contribute to products that make a difference in medical and dental care worldwide.
  • Learn specialized inspection and plating skills in a high-precision environment.
  • Be part of a supportive, safety-focused team that values quality, integrity, and teamwork.

Bonus Points For:

  • 1+ year of inspection experience (especially in medical, dental, or precision tools)

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs. regularly
  • Comfortable standing for 4+ hours per shift
  • Willing to work around chemicals (we provide proper PPE, of course)

What We Offer:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Quarterly performance bonuses
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • Paid facility shutdown in December

Please note: Due to the nature of our work, access to our facility—and employment with us—is restricted under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). This means we can only consider U.S. Citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, or individuals who are properly licensed under these regulations.

If you receive a conditional offer, we’ll ask for information to help us determine whether these export control rules apply to you, and to assess your country of chargeability if needed.

Just a heads-up: We’re a drug-free workplace, and all job offers are contingent on successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen. Testing is completed in line with FAA/DOT regulations to ensure safety and compliance across our operations.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination and ensuring equal opportunity for all employees and applicants, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or veteran status.

“We love connecting with candidates directly! We kindly ask that recruiters and agencies not contact us regarding this role.”
