Engineering intern
As an Electrical Engineering Intern at Crescent Electric, you will partner with an Application Engineer mentor and work on project(s) within our core automation and control-related products.
Primary Duties- Work on project(s) which may include the following:
- Work on VFD programming projects to develop procedures for common parameter programming, quick start, PID, and presets.
- Create programs for the HMI’s in demo cases.
- Create programs for the PLC in demo cases for key brands with connection to HMI, VFD, and remote devices.
- Utilize AutoCAD to create wiring schematics and ethernet architecture layouts to be used in demos.
- Make Center of Excellence (COE) updates to the Scada hardware and software, and any obsoleted devices.
- Create prototypes and proof of concepts for customer applications.
- Participate in joint sales calls.
- Uphold the values of the company and its culture, consistently demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and the highest standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct.
- Support company goals and objectives.
- Adhere to all safety policies.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university studying Electrical Engineering or related coursework.
- Valid Driver's License. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time with overnight stays.
- Ability to effectively establish relationships with employees, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
- Ability to work accurately under time constraints and against deadlines.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Possess comprehensive computer skills with the aptitude to learn new software programs.
- Occasionally climbing or balancing needed. Often standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger or handle, and reaching with hands and arms needed. Most of the time talking or hearing needed.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Vision requirements for driving include:
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
- Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).
- Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).

- Eligibility: Employees are eligible for health, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Employees who are 21 years of age or older will be automatically enrolled in the company’s 401(k) plan once they achieve 90 days of employment.
