Toledo Clinic's Family Practice office located on Secor Rd in Toledo OH is seeking a part-time Credentialed Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA). This position will be scheduled between 0-20 hours per week with most hours scheduled on Mon/Wed/Thurs. The schedule will vary based on the needs of the office. Qualified candidates will have an MA credential such as the RMA, CMA, or CCMA. One year or more of medical office experience is preferred.

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

General Summary:

Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office and as needed performs clinical duties

Works under the supervision of the Physicians.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Example of Essential Duties:

1. Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
2. Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc.
3. Accurately enter patient information in to the electronic medical record.
4. Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.
5. Updating insurance information.
6. Escorting patients to exam rooms.
7. Preparing and maintaining exam rooms.

Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):

1. Assisting physician with minor procedures.
2. Preparing patients for physicians (vitals, histories, etc.).
3. Answering patient questions at the request of the physician.
4. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Required:

- Excellent communication and organizational skills required.

- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.

- Registration or Certification as a Medical Assistant

- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.

- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

- Medical Assisting Credential (ie: RMA, CMA, CCMA)

- Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.

Education:

- Medical Assisting degree or diploma required.

Preferred:

- Previous experience in a medical office.
