About the Opportunity:
A well-respected and growing property management organization is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician / Groundskeeper for an affordable housing community located in Columbus, OH . This full-time position is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong work ethic and a commitment to keeping residential communities safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician / Groundskeeper will perform routine maintenance and groundskeeping duties to ensure the property’s physical appearance and operational integrity meet high standards and comply with Section 42 (LIHTC) affordable housing requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete work orders related to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC (as applicable), and general repairs
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and units
- Assist with unit turnover, including cleaning, painting, and basic repairs
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the property’s grounds, including lawn care, snow removal, trash pick-up, and seasonal landscaping
- Ensure common areas are clean, safe, and presentable at all times
- Assist with maintaining inventory of tools and supplies
- Follow all safety procedures and housing regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and HUD standards
- Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as required on a rotating on-call schedule
Work Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday–Friday
On-call rotation for emergency maintenance may be required.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ year of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or apartment maintenance preferred
- Groundskeeping or janitorial experience strongly preferred
- Basic knowledge of building systems, tools, and materials
- HVAC or CFC certification a plus, but not required
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, use ladders, and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by law
- Strong communication and customer service skills
