Maintenance Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic for our 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm, Monday through Friday. This role involves performing mechanical maintenance alongside operators to troubleshoot live breakdowns and lead the team. You will handle maintenance repairs on conveyors, pumps, fans, screens, cylinders, and motors. Additional duties include troubleshooting equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, performing Lockout/Tagout procedures, working with fine details, and effectively communicating issues between shifts.
Responsibilities- Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on conveyors, pumps, fans, screens, cylinders, and motors.
- Troubleshoot and solve equipment issues using sight, sound, and smell.
- Lead the team in troubleshooting live breakdowns alongside operators.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively between shifts.
- Work with fine details and identify solutions to mechanical problems.
- 10+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Mechanical aptitude with gear boxes, motors, servo motors, conveyors, rollers, and bearings.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience with conveyor repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, including PLCs.
- Experience in welding, blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and maintenance repair on 3-phase systems.
- Industrial Maintenance Technician certification.
- Membership in the Steel Workers union.
- Experience in a paper or steel mill, chemical plant, or similar environments.
- Experience working with high-speed packaging and bagging equipment is a plus.

Work EnvironmentOur facility is a salt processing environment, which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The role requires wearing appropriate safety gear and adhering to safety protocols.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $77251.20/yr.
