Banquet Manager
Holiday Inn is a premier full-service hotel known for exceptional guest experiences, outstanding service, and beautifully executed events. From corporate meetings and conferences to weddings and galas, our hotel offers versatile event spaces and a team dedicated to excellence. We’re seeking an experienced and service-driven Banquet Captain to join our team and help lead the execution of memorable events for our guests.
Position Overview:
The Banquet Captain oversees the setup, service, and breakdown of all banquet functions, ensuring smooth coordination between the banquet, culinary, and catering departments. This role requires a hands-on leader who leads by example, delivers polished service, and ensures every event reflects our hotel’s standards of quality and hospitality.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support banquet staff during setup, service, and teardown of events
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to confirm setup requirements, timelines, and special requests
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate event details and service expectations
- Coordinate closely with our culinary team to ensure flawless service execution
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor, providing direction and assisting staff as needed
- Ensure all guest requests are handled promptly and professionally
- Monitor food and beverage service for accuracy, quality, and timeliness
- Uphold hotel standards for cleanliness, presentation, and safety in all event spaces
- Complete post-event reports, inventory checks, and staff performance feedback
- Train new team members and promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of banquet or event service leadership experience in a full-service hotel or upscale event venue
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage staff, multitask, and resolve issues calmly under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Working knowledge of food and beverage service standards and hospitality protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
