Key Job Details – Med/Surg Tele RN

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1940 - $1990
• Assignment Length: 13-19 weeks (flexible end dates for holiday coverage)
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 26, 2026
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse (Locum Tenens)
• Shift: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Days: 07:00-19:30, Nights: 19:00-07:30; schedule based on unit needs)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Mixed Acuity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Med/Surg (21 East and West, Head & Neck and Neuro-Oncology)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Orientation: 1 week Mon-Fri dayshift, plus 36 hours on-unit with preceptor

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio state RN license required)
• Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BCLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Clinical skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy management
• Ability to float to other Med/Surg Oncology units
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Two professional references (one from manager/director or leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with mixed acuity, including oncology and neuro-oncology cases
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage IVs, and perform tracheostomy care (suctioning, changing inner cannula)
• Administer medications and treatments, including chemotherapy (if certified)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Follow infection prevention protocols and patient safety standards
• Float to equivalent or lower acuity units as needed
• Participate in self-scheduling; demonstrate flexibility for unit needs
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC EHR system
