Service Engineering Product Advisors #IN1266
DESCRIPTION
Act as technical liaison between the field service organization and the Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing organizations to proactively identify, define, and prioritize product issues and to implement both short-term and long-term solutions. Lead the investigation of product or system problems, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, and document results. Own problem resolution for moderately complex electrical and electronic components, products, systems, subsystems and services. Prioritize work initiatives to balance resources, and anticipate potential product or process issues in the field in order to deliver robust technical solutions. Anticipate the needs to the service channel and work with the distribution business to enable end-customer solutions. Enhance customer value by improving total cost of ownership through the use of data analytics. Lead consensus with technical experts to make proactive engineering decisions, in the area of failure analysis and data trends, to implement final product resolutions to improve customer uptime. Gather and communicate technical information between technical problem solvers and their service channel about product or process related issues by using proven problem-solving techniques so that issues are resolved quickly as part of Field Investigation and Support. Create the information necessary for the service channel to efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and repair product to maximize customer uptime. Structure and publish Product Serviceability Requirements and Review procedures that technicians follow to safely repair and maintain products, whilst ensuring repairable components are accessible. Solve product problems using a process that protects the customer, determine the assignable cause, implement data-based solutions, identify systemic root cause, and recommend actions to prevent problem reoccurrence. Identify internal, external, and regulatory design requirements for needed diagnostics, create diagnostic procedures following standards process and tools that meet or exceed design requirements, develop and execute test plans to validate the diagnostic, and publish diagnostic procedures following required processes. Plan, schedule coordinate and execute the activities involved in developing a product to a respectively aligned hierarchy of requirements and technical profiles utilizing experience with Product Development Execution, Monitoring and Control.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions require a Master’s degree Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Service, Product or Controls Engineer, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering, or related field and 6 years of experience as Service, Product or Controls Engineer, or related position. Experience to include: Identify, define, and prioritize product issues; Anticipate potential product or process issues in the field; Total cost of ownership; Failure analysis and data trends; Field Investigation and Support; Troubleshoot and repair to maximize customer uptime; Product Serviceability Requirements and Review; Identify systemic root cause of product problems; Identify regulatory design requirements for diagnostics; Product Development Execution, Monitoring and Control.
