Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator to support the fabrication and assembly of custom automation equipment. This role involves approximately 70% welding and 30% mechanical assembly , working closely with machinists and engineers to build high-quality engineered weldments and finished automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication (≈70%)

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metals including:
• Carbon steel
• Stainless steel
• Aluminum
• Fabricate engineered weldments from prints, CAD drawings, and specifications
• Weld structural frames, machine bases, brackets, guards, and custom components
• Maintain weld quality, appearance, and dimensional accuracy
• Inspect welds and assemblies for conformance to specifications

Assembly & Equipment Build (≈30%)

• Assemble machined components, weldments, and purchased parts into completed automation equipment
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, bills of materials, and assembly instructions
• Perform mechanical fitting, alignment, and fastening of components
• Assist with machine build-out, adjustments, and troubleshooting during assembly
• Collaborate with engineering and machining teams to resolve fit or design issues

Qualifications

• Proven experience with MIG and TIG welding
• Experience welding steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols
• Mechanical aptitude and experience assembling mechanical equipment or machinery
• Familiarity with shop tools, measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Forklift or overhead crane experience (or willingness to train)
• Having own tools a plus
