About the Position: We are seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise within our growing Water Resources Team. This role is designed for a veteran Professional Engineer who can navigate the complexities of treatment plant design, pumping stations, and collection/distribution systems. You will lead projects from concept through construction, ensuring that municipal infrastructure is resilient, efficient, and compliant with all state and local regulations. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Lead the research, planning, and design of water and wastewater treatment plants, distribution systems, collection systems, and stormwater infrastructure. Infrastructure Design: Develop comprehensive construction documents and specifications for pumping stations and utility networks. Project Management: Plan and organize engineering activities, managing budgets, deliverables, and schedules to ensure project objectives are met. Supervisory Guidance: Provide situational leadership and mentorship to junior engineers; ensure design quality meets or exceeds industry standards for functionality and safety. Business Development: Participate in client development activities, assess market opportunities, and lead the preparation of technical concepts for proposals and presentations. Construction Administration: Oversee construction oversight and administration to ensure field execution aligns with design intent and professional standards. Shutterstock Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, contractors, and sub-consultants; represent the firm at high-level meetings and industry conferences. Required Qualifications Experience: 15+ years of progressive post-education experience in water/wastewater design engineering. Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio is required (multi-state licensure is a plus). Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s Degree is a plus). Technical Mastery: Extensive experience in treatment plant upgrades, rehabilitation, and new design for both water and wastewater systems. Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of relevant water/wastewater codes, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. Communication: Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills; ability to solve problems in a high-pressure team environment. Preferred Qualifications Modeling Expertise: Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software for distribution and collection systems. Management Experience: Proven track record in managing large-scale program/construction management for municipal clients.
