Job Description

This role operates mill equipment using both manual and automatic controls to produce quality products that meet output and cost standards. You will monitor and adjust production processes, perform quality checks, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while supporting overall manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mill equipment using manual and automatic controls in accordance with established procedures.
  • Observe the threading of strip through mill processes and make progressive adjustments to tooling and associated mechanical components as needed.
  • Minimize scrap and waste by carefully monitoring production and making timely corrections.
  • Produce quality products that meet or exceed established output and cost standards.
  • Perform and accurately record quality checks throughout the production process.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively to support production activities.
  • Assist with general production tasks and material handling as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area at all times.
  • Follow all safety procedures and watch out for the safety of others on the production floor.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and also perform tasks independently when required.
  • Use basic computer and printer functions to complete production and quality documentation.
  • Handle materials and products using forklifts or other material handling equipment, if trained and authorized.
Essential Skills
  • Previous manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screen.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and process accuracy.
  • Good math skills to support measurements, counts, and basic calculations.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to work with supervisors and team members.
  • Mechanical aptitude to understand and adjust production equipment and tooling.
  • Analytical skills to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently as needed.
  • Basic computer and printer skills for data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Willingness to be trained on the use of gauges, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Commitment to working safely and maintaining a clean, orderly work area.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform labor-intensive tasks and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Experience with general labor, production, or machine operation.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in general production, construction, or similar labor-intensive environments.
  • Familiarity with machine operation and machine setup in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience using gauges, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Comfort working with both manual and automated production equipment.
  • Ability to adapt to different tasks and support various areas of production as needed.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing environment that runs on a three-shift schedule: 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. You will work around mill equipment, production machinery, hand tools, power tools, and forklifts in an industrial setting. The role requires standing, moving materials, and performing physical tasks throughout the shift, with a strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and maintaining an organized work area.

This is a Permanent position based out of Alliance, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $42640.00/yr.
