POSITION DESCRIPTION/

Senior Level Software Engineer would provide technical leadership in software product design and development and technical customer programs targeting software and hardware integration and verification for both Defense and Commercial customers/applications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, write code and test software with approved architecture and engineering processes and best practices in relevant languages (ex. C/C++/Java/Python/Rust).

  • Primary representative and technical thought partner with clients articulating project requirements, outlining expectations, and collaborating with the team to achieve commitments.

  • Review and influence ongoing design and development to support end-to-end life cycle including internal and external resources.

  • Respond to and resolve emergent problems in all aspects of production.

  • Innovate and mentor a team of engineers, lead teams on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community.

  • Facilitate software development utilizing the Agile SDLC methodology.

  • Perform technical support and product use guidance for customer engineers.

  • Support system testing and system performance analysis.

  • Analyze, develop, and recommend design approaches to meet requirements for new or improved products and/or processes.

  • Analyzing and enhancing efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and other stakeholders on system characteristics, design, and requirements.

  • Maintain a high level of understanding our Tangram Flex products and their application within a customer environment.

  • Identifying opportunities to expand business with customers and participate in developing statements of work and proposals to win additional follow on work with clients.

  • Communicate the technical concepts to both business and technical users.

  • Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements to engineering teammates, Product management,Sales / Growth team, and others.

  • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives of the company.

  • Provide status of ongoing and future projects.

  • Present technical findings and support customer demonstrations.

  • Participate in sprint reviews, planning, and integration events.

DESIRED SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES /

Required Skills:


  • BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 8-10+ years experience in software product development.

  • Possess a current/or recent U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience in a hands-on, technical leadership role (e.g. Principal Investigator, Technical Director, Chief Engineer, Security Architect) on related R&D or product development projects.

  • Experience in software product development using secure software development methods.

  • Current expert level C/C++ programming skills..

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment as part of a small team and execute complex development tasks with limited supervision.

  • Professional writing and verbal communications skills adequate to prepare software documentation, participate in technical proposal development, and work with external customers.

  • Ability to Travel to Client sites and Conferences

  • Ability to travel and work at customer site locations, if required.

Preferred Skills:


  • MS/PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

  • Strong technical relationships with DoD related laboratories (e.g. Air Force Research Laboratory, Office of Naval Research, Army CERDEC).

  • Current in Python and JAVA.

  • Experience in leading R&D proposal development.

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to travel by air, car, or other transportation methods.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (up to 8 hours/day).

  • Ability to lift and carry lightweight items (e.g., laptops, demo equipment, marketing materials) up to 25 lbs.

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, using a mouse, writing, and handling equipment.

  • Visual acuity to read detailed technical documents, view computer screens, and operate software systems.

  • Auditory ability to participate in meetings, customer demos, and conference calls, including in potentially noisy environments (e.g., trade shows or military facilities).

  • Mobility to move between office spaces, customer sites, conference venues, and manufacturing or lab environments.

  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work environments (e.g., corporate offices, government buildings, industrial or lab spaces) .
