Southside Diner is looking for some energetic go getters to share the Southside experience with customers! Southside Diner is a fast paced restaurant with a fun oldies theme and great regular customers. Come join the family. If you are looking to gain experience, we train on the job!

Line Cook Position Summary: Southside Diner’s Cooks take pride in every plate, making sure they are picture perfect. Always ensuring the freshest products are being used to prepare our dishes, the line is maintained clean, organized and stocked throughout the shift. The ideal Cook candidate also understands the company’s cost and ensures proper recipe adherence. Always follows proper health code requirements, food rotation, labeling and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities:

Full service restaurant cooking experience preferred.

Able to follow written recipes and order tickets.

Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress.

Outstanding communication and leadership skills.

Current knowledge of culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.

Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.

Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.

Familiar with industry’s best practices.

Ability to work on your feet for 8 or more hours a day.

Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.

Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis.

Food handling certification may be required according to legal regulations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school graduation or equivalent is preferred.

Some restaurant experience is preferred.
