Accounting Manager

We are recruiting for an Accounting Manager with manufacturing, cost accounting, inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and plant-level financial reporting experience.

This position is located onsite in Gallipolis, Ohio. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates, including candidates currently located in the Columbus, Ohio area who are open to relocating.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on manufacturing accounting experience who enjoys working closely with operations, analyzing plant performance, and providing accurate financial data to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage plant-level accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting

• Maintain cost accounting standards for material, labor, and overhead

• Prepare cost variance analysis, profitability reporting, budget comparisons, and forecast reporting

• Support inventory accuracy through cycle count review, inventory reconciliation, and financial analysis

• Develop and maintain controls for slow-moving, obsolete, and reserved inventory

• Provide financial analysis for capital expenditure reviews and post-investment tracking

• Maintain accurate accounting records to support internal and external audits

• Support annual budgeting, financial projections, and plant-level forecasting

• Partner with manufacturing operations to identify trends, improve reporting, and support site performance

• Help maintain the integrity of the financial reporting system

Requirements

• Experience in manufacturing accounting, plant finance, cost accounting, or inventory accounting

• Strong understanding of variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial reporting

• Experience supporting month-end close, audit preparation, and plant-level financial controls

• Ability to work closely with operations, production, inventory, and finance teams

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills

• Background in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred

• Manufacturing site optimization or Lean manufacturing exposure is a plus
