$15k sign on bonus opportunities!

Full time, 36 hrs (3x12) NIGHTS 7 PM - 7:30 AM

Responsibilities:

A respiratory therapist (RT) is a healthcare professional who treats patients with breathing difficulties: Patients RTs treat patients with a range of conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis. Responsibilities RTs perform a variety of tasks, including: Interviewing and examining patients Consulting with physicians to develop treatment plans Performing diagnostic tests, such as pulmonary function tests and blood gas analysis Administering oxygen, medication, and aerosol therapy Managing ventilators Providing chest physical therapy Monitoring and documenting patient progress Teaching patients how to use equipment and take medications.

Must Haves:

License: Must possess RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.

Certification: Possess a AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date. ACLS is required within 6 months of hire.

Experience: 1 year of RT experience preferred, some locations open to new grads.

Education: Graduate of AMA accredited two (2) year Respiratory Care Practitioner education program

About the Unit:

Number of Beds: Float throughout the whole facility

Patient Population: Adolescent to Geriatric

Common Responsibilities: Vent management (Triology, Vyaire - Transport Vent), V60 Bipap, intubate Extubate patient, EKGs, Draw ABGs (ABG is run by the lab), RT will do breathing treatments)

RRT to Patient Ratio: 1:1; 7 - 9 airways per RT/per site. Acutiy based.

Who will the candidate report to? Respiratory Care Director

Weekends:

Sat- Sun, Typically Every other weekend.
