About the Position

Job Title: Chaplain Profession: Chaplain Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Required Certifications: Required Must-Have: Flexibility with hours; ability to work weekends Description: Conducts worship services, sacramental observations, and religious educational programs for consumers, inmates, or residents of institutions. Plans and organizes sermons, Bible studies, and other chaplaincy programs. Screens volunteers and other outside church groups. Coordinates and schedules volunteer activities. Organizes and monitors training programs for seminary students. Provides spiritual guidance and clinical pastoral education regarding personal, family, and/or spiritual problems. Visits living areas and those hospitalized on a regular basis. Counsels family members and/or staff with a variety of problems. Interviews new inmates and/or residents. Develops pastoral policies and procedures for the chaplaincy program and ensures compliance by outside church groups. Attends treatment team meetings. Initiates and completes religious assessments to determine areas of spiritual needs and to coordinate activities with other treatment services. Attends staff meetings, seminars, and conferences. Contacts and/or meets with community religious leaders and/or resource personnel. Maintains attendance and/or confidential records. Requires knowledge of religious principles and practices of particular faith, pastoral psychology, clinical pastoral education, and human relations. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in familiar contexts. Capable of preparing and delivering sermons and speeches before groups. Cooperates with co-workers or volunteers on group projects.
