Creative Media and Marketing Specialist

Hammock Gear is a small team of makers in Reynoldsburg, Ohio who design and
build ultralight hammock camping gear for hikers, backpackers, and anyone
who loves time outside. We are looking for someone who enjoys storytelling,
visual creativity, and bringing ideas to life through video and design.

This role is focused on growing our YouTube channel and social media
presence. You will work directly with the owner to plan, film, edit, and
publish content that highlights our products, our process, and the outdoor
community we serve.

We have a production setup in-house using Sony camera gear, lighting, audio,
and editing workstations. If you already have a preferred personal setup,
we are flexible in working with that as well.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and creation of YouTube video content
• Work with the owner to develop video concepts, outlines, and visual style
• Film product showcases, tutorials, hammock setup tips, and lifestyle clips
• Edit video in a clean, consistent style for YouTube and social platforms
• Create thumbnails, banner art, short clips, and promotional image assets
• Format content for different platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
• Maintain a consistent visual and storytelling style across channels
• Help shape a content calendar and posting rhythm
• Join occasional on-site shoots at the shop or nearby outdoor locations

Requirements

• Experience filming and editing video (Sony or similar workflow a plus)
• Familiarity with software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci, etc.
• Ability to create visual assets in Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva
• Good eye for composition, pacing, and visual branding
• Comfortable working independently and also collaborating closely
• Must be local to the Columbus / Reynoldsburg area
• Able to be on-site for filming; editing and planning can often be done

from home

Nice to Have

• Interest in backpacking, hammock camping, or outdoor gear
• Experience telling product or brand stories through video
• Photography and audio recording skills
• Understanding of current trends in outdoor content and social media

Schedule and Compensation
We are flexible and will structure the role based on skill, availability,
and mutual fit. It may be full-time, part-time, or contract with the option
to grow. Compensation will reflect experience and scope of responsibilities.
