● Tuesday – Thursday: 8 AM – 3 PM
Position Type: Part-time, with intentional growth toward a full-time Primary Teacher role in
future academic years.

Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate, nurturing, and Christ-centered teacher. The ideal candidate will foster spiritual growth, academic curiosity, and social-emotional development in alignment with the school’s mission and philosophy. This role begins as part-time with scheduled hours on Tuesday through Thursday working as a team with our lead 1st/2nd grade teacher. This position is designed with a clear pathway toward a full-time primary classroom teaching position in future school years.
Key Responsibilities
● Plan & Deliver Instruction: Develop and implement daily lesson plans that are
developmentally appropriate, engaging, and consistent with Christian values and the
school’s curriculum philosophy.
● Create a Nurturing Environment: Provide a warm, welcoming, and safe classroom
where students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to explore and take risks in
learning.
● Faith Integration: Incorporate biblical truths and Christ-centered principles into daily
routines, classroom discussions, and instructional content.
● Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Observe, document, and assess student learning
and development; communicate regularly with families about student progress and needs.
● Collaborative Teamwork: Work with other faculty and staff to align curriculum, share
best practices, and support school initiatives.
● Parent/Family Engagement: Maintain positive and open communication with families,
building trusting partnerships that support student success.
● Professional Growth: Participate in faculty meetings, training, and professional
development to grow in both pedagogy and faith-based teaching practices.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field
(preferred).
● Valid Ohio teaching license or equivalent early childhood certification, or working
toward certification.
● Experience working with primary-aged children in a classroom or similar educational
setting.
● Strong commitment to the mission and vision of Canton Christian School and a personal,
growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
● Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
● Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Work Schedule
● Tuesday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Growth Pathway
This position is intentionally structured with the goal of transition into a full-time Primary Teacher role in future school years. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership in instructional practice, relationship building, and commitment to long-term service in the school community.
