Newscast Director (Part-time)
- Direct live and recorded segments during evening newscasts, including weather segments and, when assigned, full live newscasts.
- Work closely with producers, anchors, meteorologists, reporters, and other newsroom staff to execute high-quality broadcasts.
- Assist with studio production and technical operations as needed.
- Learn and operate newsroom production systems while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Help ensure broadcasts are executed smoothly, professionally, and on deadline.
- Perform other production-related duties as assigned.
- Strong interest in broadcast television production.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to follow direction while remaining adaptable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new technology and production techniques.
- Previous directing experience is not required-we're willing to train the right candidate.
- Familiarity with SAGA newsroom systems.
- Familiarity with MIMIR media management.
- Non-linear editing experience (Adobe Premiere or similar) is a plus.
- Previous experience in television production, college media, or live event production is helpful but not required.
