Payroll Specialist I
Location: Enerfab Power & Industrial
Division: Accounting and Finance
Reports to: Union Payroll Business Partner Note: This position is part of the Accounting/Finance department and not part of Human Resources. Summary:
The Payroll Specialist will work within Enerfab’s payroll department collecting employees’ payroll information to process and deliver paychecks. He/she will gather employees’ timesheets after each pay period and will verify that their payroll information and work hours are correct. They will also utilize the SAP software system to input basic data into the payroll system and will also prepare union reporting. They will collaborate closely with employees to gather any important payment information or to answer any of their questions regarding their paychecks. The Payroll Specialist will work carefully to calculate payroll information like taxes, deductions, union costs, and other payable hours. If any payroll issues or discrepancies occur, the Specialist must investigate and resolve them. Skills & Qualifications
- Strong computer skills such as typing, system and software knowledge.
- Knowledge of wage withholdings
- Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Good client service skills
- Being an effective team player
- Sound decision making and prioritization.
- Ability to multitask in a stressful environment with tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment.
- Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records
- Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Associate degree or bachelor's preferred.
- 1 year of Payroll experience preferred.
