Roofer – Historic Slate, Clay-Tile & Copper Roofing

The Durable Slate Company , an award-winning historic roofing contractor established in 1986 , is seeking a Roofer to join our team. We specialize in historic slate, clay-tile, and copper roofing and are known for our commitment to quality craftsmanship, safety, and preservation excellence .

What You’ll Do

• Install, repair, and maintain historic slate, clay-tile, and copper roofing systems

• Work on architecturally and historically significant buildings

• Assist with material handling, job site setup, and clean-up

• Follow company safety standards and maintain a professional job site

• Collaborate with a team of skilled roofers and preservation specialists

• Travel to various job sites as needed, with paid travel time and logistics support

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in slate, clay-tile, or copper roofing

• Comfortable working at heights using ladders, lifts, and scaffolding

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Valid driver’s license with no more than 4 points, pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork

• Willingness and ability to travel to different job sites

• Desire for a long-term career in historic roofing and preservation
