Job Description

Join a dynamic team in New Lexington, Ohio, as a Welder/Fabricator in a custom industrial equipment and general machining job shop. This role offers a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for growth and excellent benefits. As a welder, you will be responsible for cutting, joining, and repairing metal components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and work orders to determine material requirements and dimensions.
• Laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated, cast, and forged components to produce products according to specifications using various welding techniques.
• Inspecting work for quality, defects, dimensions, alignment, and seams to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
• Setting up, operating, and maintaining welding equipment and machinery.
• Safely operating forklifts or hoists to move materials and products when necessary.
• Following all standard safety rules and regulations and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Collaborating with engineering and machining departments and following supervisors' instructions.

Essential Skills

• MIG welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Attention to detail.
• Knowledge of different metals and their properties.
• Proficiency in TIG and stick welding, fabrication, welding inspection, and quality control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a working welder/fabricator in a structural steel fabrication or machine shop environment.
• Proficiency in various welding techniques, manual dexterity, spatial-orientation skills.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various physical positions for extended periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent, combined with technical training or on-the-job experience.

Work Environment

Work in a job shop environment with over 40 employees, primarily welders. The facility includes a machine shop, fabrication department, and welding shop. Please note that the work environment is non-climate controlled.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Lexington, OH.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
