PCU RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 8, 2025 – December 8, 2025)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30), including rotating weeknights, weekends, and holidays
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1940-$1990
• Unit: 8 BSH Neuro Surgery (PCU)
• Patient Ratio: 1:3-4
• Floating: Required to float to other units within the healthcare organization as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a PCU RN or Med-Surg Registered Nurse
• Active and valid RN license (Ohio state or compact nursing license required at time of submission)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) charting
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float between units as needed
• Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process required upon contract signing
• Two professional references required (one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions considered)

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a neuro-surgical progressive care unit
• Manage a patient load of 3-4 patients per shift
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform complex patient assessments
• Document care and coordinate patient management using EPIC EHR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Care for patients with neurological diagnoses such as epilepsy, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and post-neurosurgery recovery
• Perform and manage specialized procedures and equipment, including lumbar drains and EVD monitoring
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols
• Float to other nursing units within the organization as required
