Part-Time Laborer – Streets Department


The City of Wilmington is currently accepting applications for a part-time Laborer in the Streets Department. Working under direct supervision, this position assists with the maintenance and cleaning of City streets, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, storm drains, rights-of-way, and related structures.





REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED); or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and must remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

• Sweep, shovel, and remove debris from City streets, gutters, sidewalks, and rights-of-way

• Assist with leaf collection, mowing grass, trimming trees, and weed eating in public areas

• Participate in snow and ice removal operations

• Install, repair, and maintain street signs and signposts

• Make minor repairs to traffic lights, repair potholes, install raised traffic bars, guardrails, and reflectors

• Perform basic maintenance on equipment and vehicles, including cleaning and washing

• Adhere to all job safety requirements and applicable OSHA standards

• Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance

• Attend required trainings, meetings, or seminars as directed

  
  

This position's starting salary is $17.84 per hour.
