Collections Management Assistant Location Columbus, OH (Tri-Village area) : Works with the Curator and the Curatorial Technician on projects related to the curation, long term preservation, documentation and digitization of the collection holdings. The temporary assistant will work on the following curatorial projects: 1) Databasing and incorporation of bee vouchers - several thousand bee specimens from critical research conducted at OSU in the past 2-4 years has been deposited at the collection and this material must be added to our database and made fully available for subsequent study. We need help to expedite this process. 2) Databasing and imaging of butterfly specimens - we have pending requests for data and images of butterfly specimens from scientists who want to use the info on in their conservation and taxonomic research. We need people to help us expedite the process. 3) Database and incorporation of newly identified specimens - the guest curators we sponsored in 2024-2025 have identified thousands of specimens to species. We need help to update the database information and incorporate the specimens into the collection. Required: High School diploma or GED. Strong organizational skills are required. Desired: One year of experience with insect preparation and general curation techniques. The Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Collections Management Assistant to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. The pay range for this job profile is $15.00 - $19.71. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
