Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outside Truck Parts Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for selling heavy-duty and medium-duty truck parts to existing and prospective customers within a designated territory focusing on Delaware and Eastern Maryland. This position requires a self-starter with strong knowledge of truck parts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships. Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a sales plan to meet or exceed sales goals within an assigned territory (Delaware and Eastern Maryland).
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with fleet operators, repair shops, municipalities, and independent truck owners.
  • Maintain regular contact with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Provide technical assistance and product recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, industry trends, pricing, and competitors.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, quotes, and follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with parts team and delivery teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, and account information using CRM tools.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and training sessions as required.
  • Share leads across functions such as trucks sales, leasing, rental, and service departments.
  • Submit weekly reports to Senior Management outlining activity/concerns.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Accurate math skills relating to inventory, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification, and operate various material handling equipment.
  • Ability to maintain organization with competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills required to inform management of issues and to inform internal and external customers with update statuses of their orders.
  • Ability to use mechanical measuring devices such as micrometers, scales, tape measures and understand dimensions.
  • Accurately enter information into computer systems.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in outside sales, preferably in truck parts, heavy-duty equipment, or automotive parts.
  • Strong knowledge of truck parts and mechanical systems (brakes, suspension, drivetrain, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills. Self-starter with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and basic Microsoft Office tools.
Working Conditions:
  • Frequent Travel in given territory.
  • Noise level is moderate to more than moderate as parts are near shop area.
  • At times can be exposed to fumes.
  • Will need to work in different weather conditions related to supporting customers.
