Position Overview
North American Properties is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Data Scientist to drive advanced analytics across our real estate portfolio and enterprise operations.
This role will partner with Finance, Asset Management, Leasing, Development, and Executive Leadership to develop predictive models, portfolio intelligence tools, and data-driven insights that enhance decision-making across the organization.
The Data Scientist will move the company beyond descriptive reporting toward predictive, risk-adjusted, and forward-looking analytics.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Finance (Business Intelligence, Finance & Systems).
Contributions the Data Scientist will make to our team -
- Analyze complex data sets to uncover trends, KPIs, and insights for finance, capital markets, and investment teams.
- Design and implement time-series forecasting models
- Build regression, classification, and survival models
- Develop churn and risk scoring frameworks
- Conduct sensitivity and stress-testing analysis
- Translate complex data into executive-ready insights
- Improve data quality standards and validation frameworks
- Identify opportunities to embed predictive analytics into dashboards
- Identify drivers of property-level performance variability
- Develop portfolio-level heat maps and risk dashboards
- Develop advanced forecasting models foy key KPIs
- Build probabilistic and scenario-based portfolio forecasts
- Conduct Monte Carlo simulations and risk modeling
Qualifications & Requirements – What you’ll need to be successful:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Strong analytical skills and experience in statistics, modeling, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, statsmodels)
- Advanced SQL skills
- Experience with time-series forecasting and statistical modeling
- Experience building scenario modeling or simulation frameworks
- Ability to manage and structure large, complex datasets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional, fast-paced environment
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
