Russ Hadick & Associates, Inc has partnered with a Cincinnati client to help them search and qualify candidates for their Controller to oversee the financial operations of a distribution and service company and its subsidiary companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to management.
Accounting Operations:
- Work closely with Operations and Sales teams with monthly activity and sales orders.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Monitor and implement changes in accounting regulations relevant to distribution and service industries.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Optimize working capital and oversee credit and collections processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or closely related discipline is required. Master’s degree or CPA are highly desired.
- 10+ years of accounting or finance experience, ideally in a distribution, logistics or service company.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Sage or Salesforce is a plus..
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
