As a Home Delivery Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician, you will support the Home Delivery, Specialty and Adherence Pharmacies to ensure that high-risk patients receive their medications in a timely manner. The Administrative Campus is rapidly expanding with new automation being implemented, allowing the pharmacy to scale 1,500-5,000 prescriptions per day.
A caregiver in this position works as needed between 7:00AM 6:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Follow established policies and procedures to support functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department.
- Pursue completion of the Cleveland Clinic's School of Pharmacy Technology program in the first 12 months of employment.
- Prepare medications (selection, labeling, repackaging and non-sterile compounding).
- Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner.
- Appropriately use information systems, technology, and automation to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain good standing in the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program per the student handbook.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP)
- Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy OBOP) within 18 months.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) within 18 months of hire date
- Can perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds
- Basic computer skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Six months of hospital experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range: Minimum hourly: $17.75 Maximum hourly: $17.75
