About the Position
Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in an inpatient Behavioral Health facility located on the Genesis Healthcare System campus. The RN will provide care to primarily adult patients, with occasional adolescent populations, in a structured behavioral health setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, crisis management skills, and the ability to function in a charge nurse capacity when needed. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an inpatient behavioral health setting
- Monitor and assess patients with mental health conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Supervise and support staff when functioning in a charge nurse role
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability and willingness to work in a charge nurse role
- Experience with Epic EMR and Pyxis systems
- Prior Behavioral Health or Psychiatric nursing experience
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
- 3 shifts per week (12-hour night shifts)
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Additional 24 hours of on-call time over a 6-week period
- This is a contract position for 13 weeks
- Candidates must complete all compliance requirements prior to start (for May 18 start date eligibility)
