Medical Support Assistant (Medical Receptionist)
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Medical Support Assistants (MSA) to support the Dayton VA Medical Center located at 4100 West Third Street Dayton, OH 45428. Working hours are Mon-Fri, between the hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Weekend coverage may be required on a rotational basis. Competitive packages are available for qualified candidates. - Schedule appointments in accordance with VA Return‑to‑Clinic (RTC) orders, consults, recalls, and VA scheduling guidelines
- Monitor and manage open scheduling requests, consults, and RTC orders using VA systems (CTM, CTB, VSE, VistA/Oracle)
- Document all patient contact attempts and scheduling actions accurately in VA systems
- Adjust appointment times, locations, or providers as needed due to staffing or coverage changes
- Serve as a receptionist and first point of contact for Veterans and clinic staff
- Answer phones promptly and professionally; manage call volumes within performance standards
- Provide high‑quality customer service and address basic patient inquiries
- Verify and update Veteran eligibility, demographics, and insurance information
- Operate standard office equipment (copiers, scanners, phones)
- Maintain organized work areas and assist with inventory or supply tracking as needed
- Communicate and coordinate with internal departments such as Travel, Release of Information (ROI), Enrollment & Eligibility, and Decedent Affairs
- Citizen of the United States of America.
- Ability to speak clearly, hear and write English.
- Utilize computer programs appropriately, usually involving spreadsheets, word processing, etc.; log in; type 40-50 wpm with minimum errors.
- Minimum six (6) months of clerical, office, administrative, or customer service experience that demonstrates the ability to perform scheduling and administrative duties
- Education: One year above high school OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Foreign education (if applicable) must be evaluated and deemed equivalent to U.S. education standards
- Heavy phone and computer usage, often simultaneously.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, hospital terminology and/or clinics.
- Ability to pass a required level of security clearance (NACI-level background check).

All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
