Surgery Veterinary Assistant
Care Center located in Cincinnati, OH is searching for a Veterinary Assistant to join our outstanding surgical team ! If you’re passionate about veterinary medicine, eager to learn, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to meet you.
Schedule: Full-Time | Tuesday–Friday, 8am–6pm | On-call rotation required
Pay Range: Competitive hourly rate $20-25/hour depending on experienceBenefits

The Veterinary Technician Assistant supports the Veterinarians and Technicians in ensuring quality veterinary care for all patients, advocates for pets, provides client education to pet owners, and ensures a safe and efficient hospital environment.
Patient Care & Support
Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, procedures, and treatments
Monitor and provide nursing care for surgical and hospitalized patients
Perform surgical prep and ensure OR protocols are followed
Maintain surgical equipment and prepare lab samples
Communication & Client Education
Deliver organized rounds and updates to the care team
Provide pet owners with clear home-care instructions and updates on hospitalized pets
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless care
Hospital Maintenance & Safety
Ensure clean, safe, and efficient hospital operations
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments
- Patient restraint skills including, but not limited to: behavioral assessment, safe handling of fractious patients
- Able to maintain focus and work in a fast-paced work environment
- Adept at problem solving
- Basic computer skills
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- High school diploma, GED, or higher education
- One year clinical experience
- Must be able to lift forty (40) pounds unassisted
