Software Development Co-Op

Product Localization Group

Technology & Innovation Department

As an intern with the Product Localization (PRL) group, you will dive into developing custom features, capabilities and integrations to extend and optimize the Localization organization’s product and services coverage. You will have the opportunity to design, develop, modify, and implement custom software programming automated actions, applications and integrations with focus on surpassing stakeholder expectations by achieving high quality and on time delivery.

You will be responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the deployed software deliverables on all required platforms and mechanisms. You will also create, execute and document software designs which may involve complicated workflows or multiple system areas. While you will work with general supervision on complex projects and partner with senior engineers, it will also be important to act with independent judgment when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Cloud/Integration Development
  • Building and supporting web-based applications, services, integrations and systems
  • Assist in migrating backend systems to the cloud
  • Follow Agile Software Development methodology
  • Adhere to best practices in coding, documentation, test automation, and deployment
  • Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment
  • Code Customization/Migration/Automation
  • Migrate scoped codebases to different architecture
  • Experience with Java and object-oriented programming
  • Assist in maintaining our existing software product by analyzing and defining solutions to reported problems
  • Work with stakeholders to understand and improve our internal applications and solutions

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, or a first year Master’s student, in Computer Science
  • Java and Python languages required, other languages such as C++ and C# are a plus
  • Knowledge of Linux shell command and Windows command prompt required. Windows PowerShell, other scripting languages are a plus
  • Knowledge of Git-based source management system such as Git, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc. required
  • Knowledge of SQL or any database preferred
  • Experience in LLM, Generative AI, etc. preferred
  • Experience in web application development is a plus
  • Azure, Amazon Web Service (AWS) or other cloud service experience is beneficial
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel PowerPoint)
  • Passionate, driven, and proactive
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Desire to continuously improve and learn about new areas
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
