Research Nurse

Job Title: Research Nurse
Location: Columbus, OH
Type: Part-time (20 - 30 hrs/week)
Compensation: $40-50/hr
Contractor Work Model: Remote – offsite

The Research Nurse is a specialized hybrid role focused on clinical patient recruitment and oversight. This position is a direct-hire, part-time role (20–30 hours per week). It combines licensed nursing responsibilities with deep-dive clinical data analysis to identify and engage potential participants for large-scale clinical trials.


This role is ideal for a "jack-of-all-trades" professional who possesses a high degree of curiosity, clinical judgment, and advanced proficiency in EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Identify, recruit, and pre-screen potential study participants using EMR/EHR systems and databases following practice-specific access and communication protocols
• Interact with private practice partners to facilitate patient participation and address questions
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies, maintain screening logs, and track recruitment metrics
• Collaborate with study teams to ensure study goals are met
• Act as a liaison between participants, the study team, and SOC providers
• Monitor patient safety and report adverse events
• Educate study participants on clinical conditions and trial specifics
• Transition enrolled patients to Study Coordinators for pharmacy and lab workflows

• Active Ohio nursing license (RN)
• Experience in clinical research or healthcare
• Expert knowledge in EPIC
• Knowledge of GCP, FDA regulations, and HIPAA
• Strong clinical skills and excellent communication/interpersonal skills
• Ability to decipher medical charting conventions and apply to clinical trial protocols
• Curiosity, critical thinking, and investigative mindset
