The Financial Advisor will focus on creating long-term value for an established and growing client portfolio through a relationship-driven and needs-based approach. The Financial Advisor leads discovery meetings, develops tailored financial strategies, and facilitates ongoing reviews to better understand client objectives, uncover or reposition assets, and provide comprehensive solutions spanning retirement, investment, insurance, and estate planning needs. Overview of Responsibilities
- Service, retain, and expand the firms existing book of business through a collaborative advisory model in partnership with the President.
- Conduct client meetings to better understand investment objectives and retirement goals (discovery, strategy review, etc.).
- Build and present financial plans and strategies that may include retirement planning, investment management, insurance/risk planning, tax-aware planning coordination, and estate planning coordination.
- Partner with the client service/business team to execute paperwork and service requests (account openings, transfers/rollovers, applications, beneficiary updates, custodial forms).
- Proactively troubleshoot paperwork issues, missing information, and processing delays by coordinating with custodians and internal team members.
- Maintain appropriate client records, meeting notes, disclosures, and audit-ready files in the CRM and financial planning systems.
- Conduct portfolio reviews to identify strategic planning opportunities that drive AUM growth through the discovery of new assets or repositioning of existing assets.
- Provide ongoing guidance to clients based on life events, market changes, and evolving financial priorities.
- Stay current on market conditions, industry trends, planning best practices, and product offerings.
- Conduct webinars to educate clients on product updates, retirement strategies, long-term care, and market insights.
- Attend and/or participate in educational workshops, client appreciation events, or industry related events to support client engagement and ongoing professional development.
- Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience serving as a Financial Advisor within a holistic or independent financial planning firm.
- Strong knowledge of annuity products and retirement income strategies and a deep understanding of financial planning concepts including investments, retirement planning, estate planning, life insurance, and tax considerations.
- Holds an Ohio Life & Health License, Series 6 or 7, and Series 65 or 66 license; CFP or AIF designation is a plus.
- Strong technical skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, DocuSign, RedTail, and eMoney is required.
- Working knowledge of other industry related CRM systems, financial planning software, and portfolio management software is preferred (Salesforce, Wealthbox, MoneyGuide, Tamarac, Orion, etc.).
- Analytical, strategic, and numbers-driven with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts, assess risk, and analyze reports, transactional performance, and market trends to deliver informed recommendations.
- Highly adaptable with a strong commitment to learning and embracing proven processes and strategies that drive growth and scalability.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build trust, foster long-term relationships, and deliver outstanding service that creates meaningful and positive client experiences.
