Part Time Store Associate

Scouting America - Buckeye Council is hiring for a part-time sales associate.

Service center/store associate position. Part-time -- 12.5 hours per week.

Job Purpose

Assists with overall daily operation of the Marion Service Center/Store to ensure cost-effective and quality store operations. Assists with sales promotions, inventory control, stock layout and display, expenditures and budget maintenance, and control of physical inventories to meet sales objectives.

Job Summary

Contributes to the successful daily operation of the Marion Scout Service Center/Store by transacting sales, accurate timekeeping records, receiving orders, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean customer friendly environment. Provides excellent customer service in the store and on the telephone.

Essential Functions

Opens and closes the store as directed by management using the prescribed policies and procedures.

Assists in operating the store within budget guidelines to meet profit goals.

Safeguards cash and inventory using current policies and procedures.

o Completes Bank Deposit Slips and takes deposit to the bank as needed.

o Emails Bank Deposit Slips to Canton office as needed.

o Places copies of checks and deposit slip, along with the Tender Type Summary report and the credit card slips in a file to be mailed to Canton.

Completes all paperwork and reports in a timely and accurate manner.

Provides volunteers/parents with receipts for membership fees and program activity fees.

o Scan to respective person in the Canton office.

o Place receipt and application and/or activity sheet in file to be mailed to Canton.

Assists with sending pouch mail to the Hoover Service Center in Canton on Fridays.

o Mail First Class.

Provides individual with a field receipt for all fund-raising paid in person. Scan and email fundraising to Mansfield Scout office to be processed.

o Fundraising consists of: Investment in Character, memorial contributions, Good Scout Dinner, Foundations and Trusts.

Tracks copies made on the copy machine and printers on the tracking sheet.

o Assists with emailing tracking sheet to Kathy Roth in Canton the first business day of each month.

Receives Eagle Workbooks, reference letters, etc. for Harding Area District Scouts.

o Track on Eagle Worksheet.

o Scan to Jordan and Kate in Canton office, as well as Amy and Kim.

o Notify District Advancement Chair and District Executive.

Maintains a clean, organized, and stocked store.

o Sweeping

o Emptying Wastebaskets

o Cleaning Sink/Toilet

o Dusting Store

Sews patches, and hems pants.

Specialties

Self-starter.

Able to work independently.

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Basic Sewing.

The part-time Marion Service Center/Store Associate position hours would be :

Monday/Wednesday/Friday -- 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday/Thursday -- 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
