Job Title: Car Wash Technician

Business Unit: BFCW

Reports to: Technical Operations Manager

Contribution

Leads car washes to obtain customer satisfaction and retention, wash count growth, team member satisfaction and retention, while upholding Blue Falls’ image

and reputation and achieving all performance objectives.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform preventive maintenance that keeps equipment in top shape.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
  • Keep conveyor and belt systems running at peak performance.
  • Jump in quickly when something goes down to get the site back on track.
  • Work side-by-side with Site Managers to support great customer experiences.

Essential Functions

In charge of the facility maintenance (maintain cleanliness of sites, equipment maintenance/repair & chemical care and quality of the wash service).

Maintain accountability for the operations of the car washes (inventory, cashier machine functionality & discount codes).

Assist in new location selection and start up. This includes all start up equipment decisions, construction, signage, supplies, etc.

Troubleshooting and solving any incidents that occur in regard to repair or staffing that arise during and after hours or on the weekends

(some of the car washes are open 24/7; on Sundays and Holidays).

Any other duties as assigned.

This job regularly interacts with Blue Falls Car Wash employees, Western Management personnel and vendors.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma, or higher and at least 3-5 years’ experience with car wash maintenance; or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Repair/Maintenance, Customer Service and branch management operation knowledge and skills are required. Outside Business-to-Business sales

experience a plus.

Language

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures. Ability to write reports and business

correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills and Reasoning Ability

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to

apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a

variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work standing for extended periods of time or all day. Frequently moves and

lifts up to 50 lbs. Regularly bends and crouches to repair car wash equipment. Occasionally unloads deliveries up to 50 lbs. Occasionally puts

parts/supplies away on multi-level shelving up to 50 lbs. Pulls parts and supplies up to 50 lbs. when necessary. Regularly required to use hands/fingers to

operate an access machine or telephone. Regularly required to use hands/fingers to operate small hand tools necessary to repair equipment.

Regularly speaks and listens on the phone and in person, to a customer and fellow employees.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to chemicals and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is

usually loud at the locations and quiet in the office.

The employee may regularly work extended hours and Saturdays or Sundays.

The employee is occasionally required to work Sundays, evenings & Holidays.

The employee is on call for any incidents that occur in regard to repairs or staffing that arise during & after hours or on the weekends.

The employee regularly works an average of 50-55 hours per week and occasionally attends meetings after normal business hours.

Travel between locations is required; as well as to industry trade shows, vendors, etc.

Miscellaneous

The employee is required to have an acceptable driving record, in line with the stated Company Policy, and they must have a valid driver’s license in the state

in which they are employed with the Western Management Companies.

The employee must comply with all aspects of Western Management’s Drug Free Workplace Policy. A background check is required as a condition

of employment.
