Laser Operator – 1st Shift
Location: Brooklyn, OH 44144
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm
Overtime: Occasional overtime as needed
Position Type: Full-Time / Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $23.13/hr starting pay – temp to hire – eligible for raise and benefits once hired.

Crucial Link is hiring a Laser Operator for a manufacturing company in Brooklyn, OH 44144 . This is a 1st shift opportunity for someone with experience operating laser cutting equipment , working with sheet metal, and following detailed production and safety procedures.

Job Responsibilities

The Laser Operator will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines and other metalworking equipment in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner.

Responsibilities include:

• Operate laser cutting machines and various metalworking machines.
• Select and set up machine operations based on material type and thickness.
• Load programs and set machine parameters to ensure proper equipment performance.
• Monitor machine operation and report any defective parts, safety concerns, equipment issues, or process problems immediately to a supervisor.
• Use knowledge of shielded gases during laser cutting operations.
• Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards.
• Lift raw materials, finished products, and items packed for shipment using a hoist or manually as needed.
• Assemble items as instructed by the shift leader or floor supervisor.
• Stack, pack, box, and palletize parts and assemblies.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist with indirect labor duties such as sweeping, cleaning, organizing, and general production support.
• Maintain punctuality, productivity, and assigned work quotas.
• Uphold applicable ISO and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have:

• Previous experience operating laser cutting equipment or similar metalworking machinery.
• Solid background working with sheet metal.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• General shop safety knowledge.
• Machine safety awareness.
• Ability to follow instructions and report issues quickly.
• Strong attendance, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical manufacturing duties throughout the shift.

Requirements

• Must be punctual, reliable, and safety-minded.
• Must be able to work Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm.
• Must be available for occasional overtime as needed.
• Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment.
