Web Department Manager
Job Description
Job Description
Salary:
Web Department Manager
Location: Remote / Hybrid (Dublin, Ohio)
Type: Full-Time
About Us
We're a national digital dental marketing agency with 20 years of helping practices grow. Our work sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and execution: building high-performing websites and digital ecosystems that drive real business results for dental practices across the country.
As we continue to scale, we're investing in smarter systems, stronger processes, and emerging technologies (including AI) to improve how we build, manage, and optimize websites.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Web Department Manager to lead our web function into its next phase of growth.
This role is ideal for someone who loves building scalable systems, leading talented teams, and modernizing how web services are delivered. You'll own the strategy, quality, and execution of our website services while helping shape how AI and automation enhance efficiency, performance, and client outcomes.
This is a leadership role, not a junior manager or daily coding position.
What You'll Do
Lead and Scale the Web Department
- Own and evolve our web processes, standards, and delivery models
- Ensure websites launch on time, perform well, and meet accessibility and security standards
- Balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability as we grow
Drive Innovation (Including AI)
- Identify opportunities to use AI-assisted tools for copy, design systems, QA, performance optimization, and internal workflows
- Partner with senior technical staff to modernize platforms and reduce technical debt
- Evaluate new technologies with a practical, ROI-focused mindset
Oversee Website Builds and Maintenance
- Guide website projects from onboarding through launch
- Ensure consistent quality across design, performance, accessibility, and mobile experience
- Oversee proactive website maintenance, updates, and performance monitoring
Lead People and Partners
- Manage and mentor a mix of full-time team members and contractors
- Set clear expectations, priorities, and accountability
- Create an environment where smart ideas, experimentation, and continuous improvement are encouraged
What Success Looks Like
- Websites are delivered efficiently and consistently
- Performance, accessibility, and maintenance standards are met without rework
- The team operates with clarity and confidence
- AI and automation are used thoughtfully to improve outcomes, not add noise
- Web services scale without chaos or burnout
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in web development, technical operations, or digital platforms
- Proven experience leading technical teams or vendors
- Strong understanding of WordPress, website performance, hosting concepts, and modern web standards
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility guidelines and Core Web Vitals
- Curiosity about AI and emerging tools, with the judgment to apply them responsibly
- Clear communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical teams
Why Join Us
- A respected agency with 20 years of proven success
- A leadership role with real influence over systems, tools, and direction
- The chance to help shape how AI is practically used in digital marketing
- Remote-friendly, collaborative culture
- Focus on sustainable growth for clients and employees
