Performance Architect/Engineer (Remote)
Job Description
We are Cloud Performance Engineering team (PSR) focused specifically on the Performance, Scalability, Availability and Reliability aspects of mission critical Oracle Health and Analytics Cloud Services. The team engages across all aspects of software development lifecycle from performance perspective including architecture and design reviews, performance benchmarking and analysis, sizing, production performance resolutions, and others to ensure customer satisfaction and success.
As a Senior Performance Engineer / Consulting Member of Technical Staff with the Oracle Health and Analytics Cloud Performance team, you will play a pivotal role in improving performance of Oracle's latest Cloud Services. You will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Additionally, you will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

10+ years of software engineering or related experience
-
Expertise in Architectural concepts around Cloud Computing and Enterprise Software Development

Proficient in Java / J2EE and systems engineering, Python is a plus
-
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
-
Experience with Microservices architecture software development
-
Hands-on experience with load testing, profiling and analysis tools
-
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex performance, scaling and stability issues
-
Experience in developing software using AI/ML, Prompt Engineering, NLP, Speech processing and related technologies
-
Experience in performance characteristics of latest Open Source Cloud Technologies - Kubernetes, Kafka, Cache, ElasticSearch, BigData and others.

Strong knowledge of System technologies - Linux, Docker, Virtualization, Compute, Networking and others

MS or BS in Engineering or Computer Science

Work closely with Development Leads/Architects on identifying/designing/implementing code optimizations.

Perform in-depth analysis using performance profiling tools to identify hotspots and optimization opportunities to improve overall product performance

Provide technical consulting and mentoring to team members on optimization techniques, new algorithm design, implementation and conformance to architecture standards.

Candidate should also be strong in algorithms and design paradigms

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
