Elementary Special Education Teacher – York Elementary School
York Public Schools is accepting applications for an Elementary Special Education Teacher at York Elementary School . We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and student-centered educator who is committed to supporting students’ academic growth and building strong partnerships with families.
Position Details:
- Full-time, certified teaching position
- Elementary level assignment
- Start Date: August 2026

Responsibilities Include:
- Providing specialized instruction to support students’ academic skills
- Completing academic assessments to determine eligibility for special education services
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Facilitating and participating in IEP meetings with families and team members
- Maintaining accurate and timely special education paperwork and documentation
- Building positive, supportive relationships with students and families
- Collaborating with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
Qualifications:
- Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate (or ability to obtain) with Special Education endorsement
- Strong knowledge of special education processes and compliance requirements
- Effective communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to meeting the diverse needs of elementary learners
