FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMUNITY BASED CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

The Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility (CBCF) is a minimum security, American Correctional Association (ACA) accredited, residential prison diversion program for adult male offenders. The Franklin County CBCF is a 180-bed facility that houses adult male offenders (referred to as residents) for a maximum of 180 days. The CBCF believes community safety is of upmost importance. Second is targeting residents criminogenic needs via intense cognitive behavioral programming in an effort to reduce their likelihood of recidivating. POSITION SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Peer Support Specialist (Reentry) at the Franklin County Community-Based Correctional Facility (CBCF) is a direct care, contract position responsible for using lived experience to assist residents in addressing reentry barriers related to housing, benefits, transportation, healthcare, family reunification, and community integration. Reporting directly to the Reentry Manager, this role is responsible for providing resident support in assisting them with individualized reentry planning, coordinating community resources, and assisting residents in developing practical plans to support long-term success following program completion. The Peer Support Specialist will support the facilitys mission by using lived experience to foster a collaborative environment focused on rehabilitation and successful reintegration, while also ensuring that practices are in accordance with established rules, policies, and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Peer Support Specialist Certification or ability to obtain certification within 90 days from hire required. Lived experience in navigating barriers related to incarceration, recovery, and/or involvement in the criminal justice system required. Experience working with justice-involved, underserved, or high-barrier populations preferred. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and database management systems. Ability to maintain appropriate ethical boundaries aligning with Peer Support guidelines. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of community-based corrections and therapeutic alliance preferred. Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions to improve outcomes. Valid Ohio driver's license and acceptable driving record.
