Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform both mechanical and electrical maintenance on plastic production line equipment in a fast-paced environment. This position involves working on various machinery including extrusion lines and winding machines, ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of our production process.

• Conduct mechanical and electrical maintenance on plastic production line equipment.
• Perform repairs on 10 extrusion lines and winding machines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical components such as shafts, valves, bearings, chains, conveyors, couplers, extruders, winders, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems including 3-phase 480v systems, 120v control wiring, AC-DC electrical systems, and motor repairs up to 300 horsepower.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Repair industrial ovens, both electrical and gas powered.
• Utilize the Oracle work order system for maintenance tasks.
• Engage in reactive maintenance when machines break down and perform preventative maintenance.
• Install and upgrade electrical cabinets, including AC/DC power systems.
• Adhere to Lockout/Tagout procedures on electrical systems.
• Work with PLCs (AB and Siemens) and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience with a 65/25 mechanical to electrical skillset.
• Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting of valves, bearings, chains, conveyors, couplers, extruders, winders, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Expertise in electrical troubleshooting of 3-phase 480v systems, 120v control wiring, AC-DC systems, and motor repair.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• PLC troubleshooting experience (AB/Siemens).
• Experience with VFD troubleshooting.
• HVAC knowledge.
• STICK welding skills.
• Experience in a plastic extrusion environment.

Work in a fast-paced plastic extrusion production environment featuring 10 extrusion lines and both manual and servo computer-powered winders. The environment is dusty and loud due to constantly running machinery, with a mix of older and newer equipment. Reactive maintenance is prioritized over preventative maintenance.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mentor, OH.

The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $72800.00/yr.
