Shift Manager, Furnace Operations Iron Producing. Directly responsible for operation of Blast furnace and cast house. Monitors operating conditions of furnace and makes corrective actions as needed. Directs cast house operators, oversees casting of furnace and monitors critical cooling systems. Hands on with daily operating issues involving cast house and furnace equipment. Responsible for safety of crews and outside contractors. Responsible for maintaining environmental compliance 24 hr/day and demonstrating compliance to cast house emission standards. Responsible for shutdown and startup procedures, including critical gas system isolating purges.. Directly involved in the job and safety training of crews. Works directly under the Shift Manager as well as in close communication with the other Furnace Operator and Process Coordinator. Provides a communication link between crew, Shift Manager and Process Coordinator. Willing to learn all facets of operation and furnace equipment (extensive training program). Willing to learn new technology and put into practice to include an Iron making course at McMaster.

Minimum Requirements. High School Diploma or equivalent GED. At least 5 years or more of related experience in industrial operations.. Must have good interpersonal skills . Must be willing to make quick fact based decisions
Preferred Requirements. Associate or Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Management. At least 2 years supervisory experience in heavy or metals manufacturing
